Jewish Care has been awarded the Skills for Care Accolades 2012/13 after being nominated in the category The Best Employer Of Over 250 staff. Achieving an Accolade proves an individual’s or organisation’s success in improving the lives of people who use social care services through workforce development and demonstrates a commitment to innovation. Simon Morris, chief executive of Jewish Care said “I am delighted that Jewish Care has received this national award. This tremendous achievement demonstrates the high level of commitment and enthusiasm shown by our staff.” Diane Blausten, Director of Human Resources, Jewish Care said “we recognise and value our workforce as they are one of the key ingredients in supporting the Jewish community. Our staff value the learning and development we offer and the opportunity to do meaningful work and to progress through the organisation. We have invested time and resources in developing the leadership skills of our senior and front line leaders and this has really supported the development of our values-based culture where creativity, understanding the individual and collaboration can flourish. This really is a great place to work and an organisation to be proud of – a leadership beacon for our community.” Since the first Accolades ceremony was held in 2003, the popularity of the competition has grown and it has become one of the most prestigious events of the social care calendar.
