On behalf of the JLC’s Lead division, Nicky Goldman attended the first Regional Trustee Networking Event initiated by Rebecca Weinberg (CEO, Leeds Jewish Welfare Board). This took place in Leeds on Sunday 6th October to examine the idiosyncrasies, the roles, responsibilities and boundaries of being a Trustee and develop a network of like-minded individuals to help consider and understand succession planning and governance issues. It was coordinated by the Leeds Jewish Representative Council together with Lead and with the support of the Jewish Volunteering Network. The event included specially selected guest speakers including Edward Ziff, Jonathan Straight, Helen Lewis and Mark Adlestone. A choice of workshops were also on offer, including one led by Natalie Johnson who specialises in charity law. With over 30 attendees and representatives from across the UK the event was seen as a great success which could see it become a permanent fixture in the calendar going forward.
