On Monday 29th June, PaJeS held an Ofsted workshop for nine headteachers. Helena Cohen, Headteacher of Beis Yaakov Primary School, introduced the morning by describing how she prepared for the school’s recent inspection, including preparing governors, staff, parents and children by holding mock interviews and carrying out evaluations. Sheree Oxenham from Clore Shalom School said that it was “great to hear how Helena prepared and took control”.
Sandra Teacher from the Board of Deputies then clarified the various changes that have recently been made to the Ofsted inspection framework. Finally, Rabbi Meyer gave participants a comprehensive overview of what to expect from an Ofsted inspection, including a number of suggested strategies as to how best to prepare. Kevin Brown from Menorah Grammar School for Boys said that the session was “full of pragmatic and innovative suggestions”.
Sarah Simmonds from Noam Primary School commented: “It was excellent preparation for our Ofsted inspection next year. I feel more confident about what I need to prepare for the new inspection framework.”
