Before joining the JLC, Yoni served as the communications adviser to Israel’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, HE Daniel Taub, and as a political analyst for the Israeli Embassy’s Political Counsellor.
Born in New York City, Yoni made Aliyah with his family in 1991 and until recently lived in Jerusalem. He graduated with a BA in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies, with a focus on foreign policy decision-making, from The Hebrew University.
In 2010, Yoni worked at the White House in the office of the Chief of Staff to Vice President Joseph Biden. After returning to Israel, Yoni joined the Hartman Institute, where he was the Junior Research Fellow on the iEngage Project and the Centre for Military Ethics. Yoni also worked at Agora Policy, a Jerusalem-based public policy consulting firm, where he analysed and assessed the efficacy of two national initiatives: the IDF’s Shachar programmes, which integrate the Ultra-Orthodox community into the military, and the Centres for Resiliency, which support the communities around the Gaza Strip who regularly suffer from rocket and terror attacks.
An avid cyclist, Yoni is a founding rider of the annual “Wheels of Love” Charity bike ride that benefits the Alyn Children’s Orthopaedic Hospital in Jerusalem. In addition to working at the JLC, he is studying towards a Master’s degree in Global Politics at the London School of Economics.
