Miles Webber

Miles is Group Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Land Securities PLC, the UK’s largest commercial property company. Miles joined Land Securities in May 2015, and is a member of the Executive Committee, with responsibility for investor relations, internal communications, media relations, public affairs, brand management, corporate marketing, digital communications, environmental and energy management and social-economic sustainability.

Miles joined Land Securities from General Electric (GE) the world’s biggest industrial conglomerate, where he was Global COO of the External Affairs function, responsible for managing teams across the world, with hubs in Washington DC, Brussels, Nairobi, Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Singapore, Sao Paulo and New Delhi. In addition to his global role, Miles was also the Head of External Affairs for GE in the UK and Ireland, where he represented the interests of the company to a range of external stakeholders including government, the media and regulators.

During his 10 years at GE, Miles held a number of roles across various parts of the business, including GE Capital and GE Money.
Before joining GE in 2005, Miles spent five years as Director of Public Affairs for the US investment bank Merrill Lynch in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Between 1997 and 1999, he was Head of Campaigns & Communications at the MSF Trade Union, having joined MSF from the London agency LSA Communications where he was Director of Public Affairs.

From 1993 to 1996, Miles was Director of LFI one of the largest Labour Party affiliates, and was shortlisted as the prospective Labour Parliamentary candidate for the Finchley & Golders Green in 1996.

Miles has a BA in Politics and Theology from the University of Manchester and studied for an MA in Politics as SOAS, University of London.

He is a Trustee of the New Israel Fund and the SW Trust. He also serves on the Board of the Westminster Forum, the Brymore Group and the Foreign Policy Centre. He is a member of the Jewish Leadership Council and is the Co-Chair of Lead.

Miles is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the Institute of Directors.
