The JLC Appoints New Interim Chief Executive

The Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) has announced that it is appointing Simon Johnson as its Interim Chief Executive. The appointment is an interim measure as the JLC carry out a search for a full time chief executive.

Simon was previously a senior lawyer at ITV, the Premier League, Director of Corporate Affairs at the Football Association and the COO of England’s Bid to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. His most recent roles have included the Interim Chief Executive of Business in Sport and Leisure and he is currently acting as a consultant to the Sports and Media Group at Charles Russell solicitors.

Simon is also Chairman of Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue and is on the United Synagogue Council.

Mick Davis, Chairman of the JLC commented:

I am delighted that Simon will be taking over as Interim Chief Executive at the JLC. Simon has a wealth of experience in running organisations and with the range of issues that the JLC is currently engaged with it is important that we have someone with Simon’s experience leading the team.

Simon Johnson commented:

I am very pleased to be joining the JLC at this exciting time and with so many important projects and initiatives underway. I am greatly looking forward to joining the team.
