While some aspects of Jewish life are enduring, others are always changing. As the demographics of the Jewish community change, so do its needs. Wider social trends also impact upon the Jewish community.
The JLC plans for the future of the Jewish community and works to ensure this future is properly provided for. This includes projecting future need, identifying gaps in communal infrastructure, and working with our members to make sure those gaps are filled.
Examples include:
- The Commission for Jewish Schools, which was conducted by the JLC, implemented by a Schools Strategy Implementation Group and is in the process of becoming a new permanent agency for Jewish schools.
- The Commission for Women in Leadership
- Leadership development, though nurturing the New Leadership Network and creating LEAD
- The new Community Vitality initiative
