David is steeped in Maccabi and Jewish sport, having first played soccer in the Maccabi Southern Football League from the age of 16 continuing through to the Maccabi Masters Football League until he officially hung up his boots to run Marathons in 2003.
David has worked his way through the organisation and has held all the senior roles at Maccabi GB including leading our largest ever team of over 500 to a Maccabiah Games in 2009. He joined the board in 2013 and went on to become Vice Chairman soon after and Chairman in 2015
David has helped steer Maccabi GB to become a highly successful community organisation with extensive reach and role in communal life. Maccabi GB now see over 50,000 people a year and deliver hundreds of programmes including the communities largest single event, the Maccabi GB Community Fun Run that engaged over 70 Jewish Charities and 6500 people last year alone.
David has been married to his wife, Alex, for 38 years and has four children – almost all of whom have been involved in Maccabi GB at some stage – he is a grandfather of two and has been Managing Director of an Estate Agency since 1981.
David joined the JLC Council in 2018.
