This summer, the JLC are an official partner with EqualiTeas which is a UK-wide celebration of our democratic equality and marks the 90th anniversary of the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act 1928, in which all people were given the right to vote on an equal basis.
EqualiTeas week will be 18 June – 2 July.
We're asking you to hold an EqualiTeas over a cup of your favourite brew and have a chat about what equality means. How you take part is entirely up to you. There are ideas and resources, as well as a free host pack, over on the EqualiTeas website.
Once you have registered your event, you’ll receive a free Host packs, which includes:
- tablecloth board game
- pack of debate cards
- selfie placard
- cookie cutter
- recipe card
Please do let us know if this is something that you’d like to be involved with. The JLC are able to facilitate your participation in the campaign and offer additional support where possible.
You can take part in the conversation by tweeting your participation and a photo of your event to us at @JLC_uk using the hashtag #equaliteas.
We also invite people to write in with a paragraph or short blog (400 words) on what equality means to you. You can email these in to firstname.lastname@example.org.
