Hilda Worth

Hilda spent most of her life involved in Jewish communal activities.

As a teenager she was a member of BBYO, a peer led youth organisation where she was local Nottingham chapter president, and a member of the regional and national executive committee.

Hilda trained as a Drama teacher and used these skills, following a move to London, volunteered in Norwood Binoh, family support centre, working with children with special needs.

Hilda became involved in Jewish Women’s Aid initially through their schools programme, raising awareness with young people about healthy relationships and domestic violence.  She became more involved chaired their campaign committee and is currently Co-Chair of the organisation.

Hilda is Vice-Chair of Conservative Friends of Israel and has been on the advisory board for 10 years.

Hilda has recently taken on the position of Co-chair of the joint JLC BOD Israel Advocacy Forum (previously Fair Play Campaign Group) and is looking forward to developing the work of this group. 

Outside of communal involvement she is a JP, sitting on both the Adult and Family bench and is currently studying for a PhD in Modern Jewish History at Southampton University.
