Earlier today the JLC hosted a roundtable discussion with Rt Hon Douglas Alexander MP, the Shadow Foreign Secretary and leading members of the Jewish Community.
The discussion covered a wide range of issues which included the prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, the current climate in the broader Middle East region, and Iran's nuclear programme. It was a very constructive discussion and the JLC hopes to be able to continue to work together collaboratively in the future.
Douglas Alexander MP, Shadow Foreign Secretary said:
I was grateful to have the opportunity to meet with the JLC. The participants brought with them broad and varied expertise that ensured that the discussion was both broad ranging and constructive. I welcome the chance to talk through enduring and vital issues of concern to us all and look forward to continuing working together in the future.
Jeremy Newmark, Chief Executive of the JLC said:
