Last month we announced that LEAD: Jewish Leadership Excellence and Development, had been launched to provide visionary, inspirational and transformational Jewish community leaders and leadership within the UK Jewish community.
The concept, incubated within UJIA, has emerged as a result of consultation between the JLC, UJIA and other major communal charities. LEAD will now be the core vehicle through which JLC promotes the part our platform which relates to the development of a new generation of leaders for major communal organisations. LEAD will function as a service and resource for all sections of the community.
Housing LEAD within the JLC symbolises the level of support for this project, from all of the agencies which provide the infrastructure for UK Jewish life. LEAD is chaired by Nigel Layton, former chair of World Jewish Relief, who now sits as a member of the JLC in this new capacity. Nigel commented:
"I am delighted to chair this exciting initiative to ensure that we are preparing the leaders of today and tomorrow for the challenges they face."
Nicky Goldman has been appointed as the Director of LEAD and Sam Clifford as Manager. LEAD will offer leadership programmes and services, growing incrementally over 3 years.
