Lead, the leadership development division of the JLC, held the second of its newest initiative, Leading In, on 30th May. The event, held at the Jewish Museum was attended by 60 lay and professional leaders from more than 30 Jewish communal organisations.
Debbie Klein, chair of JW3 gave the opening key note discussing her leadership tips. She explained that her leadership mantra is “cool head, firm hand and warm heart.” The workshops that participants could choose from were “Inside the mind of a leader” with Jeff Wolfin, “Fundraising” with Jeff Shear (the second in the series” and “Leadership in the Digital Age: Conversing, Commenting and Creating Meaningful Relationships” with Esther Kustanowitz from LA. Both Debbie’s and Esther’s presentations have been filmed and will be available online shortly. One participant said “Superb evening - I learned a lot and made the most of the networking opportunities” and another added “I am a volunteer in a very small charity so am on a steep learning curve so evenings like these are invaluable.” The next Leading In will take place on 9th July at LJCC with a key note from Nigel Risner and workshops on fundraising, community organising and communication.
