Born in Leeds, Michele graduated from Leeds University with a degree in BA (Hons) in languages, followed by a teaching diploma. She taught French and German in Leeds and London.
She has been an active member of WIZO for over thirty years taking several positions at Head Office. Initially on the National Council, she joined the Executive in 1993 as AVIV co-chairman, co-chairing the cross-communal Jewish Women’s Week Campaign for five years and then serving as National Chairman from 2002 to 2006. She then became National President until March 2012 and now serves as Honorary President.
Michele has served on the Board of Management of Bushey United Synagogue as Co-Chair of the Cheder Committee and recently has been involved in the Strategic Planning for Bushey United Synagogue leading the Education Working Party.
Michele participated in the JLC communications strategy and sat on the JLC’s Commission on Women in Jewish Leadership.
