Steven Lewis, 52, has been Chairman of Jewish Care for several years, the largest health and social care charity for the Jewish community in Europe. Steven has a long history with Jewish Care, having started to volunteer and raise funds over 23 years ago. Steven has been on the Board of Jewish Care since 1990, was the organisation’s Deputy Chairman for 13 years, and led the fundraising campaign for over a decade, as Campaign Chairman.
Working alongside the 13 other Trustees and other senior members of the charity, Steven’s focus has been to provide both strategic and practical leadership in the field of fundraising to date, helping to raise £200m, and working to secure and retain supporters at every level. His experience and expertise in this arena has meant that Jewish Care has been able to increase the amount it has raised, both to run its services annually and to develop new buildings and facilities.
Steven is a founder and senior partner of Lewis & Partners LLP, a commercial property investment practice. His main areas of responsibility lie in advising key institutional clients, other property companies and high net worth individuals on their acquisition and disposal strategies regarding commercial property in the retail, office and industrial sectors.
Married to Alicia, they have 4 children and are active members of Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue. He is also a trustee of the Jewish Leadership Council.
