Passing the Torch - Young Professionals and Communal Lay Leaders Connect at JW3

Passing the Torch - an evening of connection to spark the next generation of Jewish leadership, took place at JW3 on Monday 11th March.

The event, hosted by JLC Vice-Chair/Lead Chair Debbie Fox, featured lawyer and author Daniel Geey in conversation with JLC trustee Nina Freedman on a number of topics, but above all, the importance of people finding time to do what really matters to them. We also heard from prominent communal lay leaders Nigel Henry, Hilda Worth, Ashley Sweetland and Eli Gaventa who shared the immense value of lay leadership and the passion underpinning their commitment to the community.

After JLC CEO Claudia Mendoza introduced the work of the JLC/Lead, we concluded with time for networking and a chance for people to enjoy refreshments and connect with others.

We plan for this to be the first in a series of events to help rebuild the Jewish communal lay leadership pipeline, so watch this space! Thanks to all of our speakers and contributors, but especially to the Henry Family for sponsoring the event.
